Vanguard. From the French avant-garde - advanced squad. The direction has no stylistic unity. Belonging to the avant-garde is determined by the non-classical embodiment of ideas and rejection of historically established stereotypes. The real avant-garde is a polemicist, a wrestler, a master of eloquent expression. The avant-garde is characterized by strength (up to aggression), energy, neglect of the technical school and difficulties, often the work carries a mockery of the audience, critics and the general way of life.
The main object of conceptual art is the idea, so it often works with text. Essentially, it studies the boundary between text and visual images. A work of conceptual art can be not only a painting, but also a sculpture, and installation, and performance.

CONCEPT:

How is a realistic tradition developing in the visual arts today? And what forms does it take? The painting presented at the exhibition has a romantic structure: it is brightly emotional, it always has a poetic mood, musicality, the joy of being, a high sense of love for the motherland. Realistic in form and romantic in essence, it glorifies the beauty of the world and is devoid of “practical impurities”: social sound, criticism or sermon.

At the beginning of the XXI century, only “romantic realism” preserves the living artistic tradition of Russian realistic painting, which is unique and so valued throughout the world. The exhibition demonstrates a significant trend in contemporary Russian art: the return of figurative art, combining reliance on tradition, attention to reality and an ethical position, to the vanguard of the artistic process. Having perceived and reworked the cultural baggage of modernism, in the 21st century realism once again occupies a leading position in the visual arts.
